Classic Items

Kokiri Sword : Found in the Kokiri Village. You have to crawl through a small passage. It's a small sword, not very powerful, but since it's the first one you find, you're still happy to have it.

Deku Shield : You'll find it in the shop in Kokiri Village. This wooden shield will repel attacks from Deku Scrubs and allow you to see the Deku Tree at the start of the game.

Hylian Shield : You can find this shield in some shops or for free in the Kakariko Village graveyard. Young Link can hide under it; Adult Link uses it as a normal shield.

Master Sword : After obtaining the Ocarina of Time and playing the Song of Time in the Temple of Time.

Goron Tunic : You won't be hot anymore thanks to this tunic for adults. Darunia's son (who is named after you) gives it to you after stopping him with a bomb.

Biggoron's Sword : Complete the Biggoron's Sword quest to obtain it.

Iron Boots : In the Ice Cavern by killing the White Wolfos in the last room.

Zora Tunic : King Zora gives it to you after you thaw him out.

Hover Boots : In the Shadow Temple. They allow you to walk in the air for a short time but are quite slippery on real ground.

Mirror Shield : In the Spirit Temple. It allows you to reflect light and deflect magical attacks.

Fixed Inventory

Slingshot : You'll find it in the Deku Tree (level 1 when you're young). This slingshot allows you to fire Deku Seeds.

Fairy Ocarina : After obtaining the Kokiri Emerald, as you leave Kokiri Forest, Saria gives it to you. This ocarina allows you to play different melodies learned during your quest.

First Bottle : Talon gives it to you at the Ranch when you're young if you manage to win the chicken game. This bottle will be full of milk at the start. Once drunk, you can carry fairies, insects, spirits...

Second Bottle : The "Chicken Lady" gives it to you if you bring back her 7 chickens.

Third Bottle : You'll find it in Lake Hylia, near the passage leading to Zora's Domain. It contains a message when you find it.

Boomerang : You'll find it in Jabu Jabu's belly, very useful for catching rewards left by skulltulas. It paralyzes or kills enemies from a distance.

Ocarina of Time : After finishing the first 3 palaces, Zelda throws it into the castle moat when you arrive near the drawbridge.

Hookshot : By following Dampé in his Labyrinth tomb when you're grown up. He will reward you with this item that he already had in his possession when you were young.

Fairy Bow : In the Forest Temple. It allows you to activate "eye" switches on the wall, kill enemies, and participate in certain games (Kakariko Village, Gerudo Valley).

Fourth Bottle : You'll need to catch the 10 Big Poes in Hyrule Field using your bow and Epona. The Poe Collector will give it to you when you've brought them all back to him.

Megaton Hammer : In the Fire Temple. This terrible hammer will allow you to defeat Volvagia, the dragon of the Fire Temple. It also allows you to press certain buttons and break certain rocks that resist bombs.

Longshot : In the Water Temple. You'll have to defeat your dark shadow to obtain it. It has the same use as the Hookshot but its range is much greater.

Fire Arrow : On an island in Lake Hylia, you have to shoot an arrow at the sun when it rises. It allows you to use flaming arrows without needing to pass through a flame. It consumes magic.

Lens of Truth : In the well which must have been emptied by playing the Song of Storms in the windmill (as a child).

Ice Arrow : Simply complete the trials of the Gerudo Training Ground to access it.

Light Arrow : By returning to the Temple of Time after delivering the 6 sages.

Mask of Truth : You'll obtain it after selling all the masks from the Mask Shop. It will allow you to question the Gossip Stones.

Consumable Inventory

Deku Stick : You earn these sticks -among other ways- by killing carnivorous plants when they are vertical, head in the air. In fact, they must be cut in half.

Deku Nut : You earn these nuts -among other ways- by killing carnivorous plants.

Deku Seeds : These seeds are used to feed Link's slingshot. You find them -among other ways- by cutting plants with the sword.

Bombs : You'll find them for the first time just before the fight against King Dodongo in the Dodongo Cavern.

Bombchus : Bombchus are a kind of bombs on wheels that move forward, climb walls and then eventually explode. You'll get them in the Bombchu Bowling Alley by winning several times.

Magic Beans : They are obtained at Zora River, sold by a fat guy who spends his time eating. You can plant them in squares of freshly turned earth. Their price increases by 10 with each purchase.

Unusable Inventory

No one will scream scandal, let's be clear, Epona is not an object. This would surely be the right section to talk about her, but I won't do anything of the sort, Epona is your friend, I'll limit myself to talking about her music.

Stone of Agony : Go to the House of Skulltulas with at least 20 gold skulltula tokens. A child will give it to you. Thanks to it, your controller will vibrate if you pass near a secret cave.

Goron's Bracelet (Strength Bracelet) : Darunia gives it to you to help you clear the Dodongo Cavern.

Silver Scale : The organizer of the diving game in Zora's Domain gives it to you if you win this game. It allows you to dive twice as deep.

Gold Scale : The owner of the fishing pond gives it to you when you're grown up if you catch a big fish. You will be able to dive even further thanks to this item.

Gerudo Membership Card : The guardian of the Gerudo Fortress gives it to you when you deliver all the workers. Thanks to it, you can wander freely in the Gerudo Fortress and visit the Gymnasium.

Silver Gauntlets : They allow you to lift stones and pull very heavy blocks. Only Adult Link can put them on; you'll find them in the Spirit Temple (as a child).

Golden Gauntlets : They will allow you to lift enormous stone pillars like the one in front of Ganon's Castle. They are obtained in the "Shadow" part of Ganon's Tower.

Standard Songs

Zelda's Lullaby Play music

: This melody has mysterious powers; play it whenever the Royal Family crest appears. Impa teaches it to you.

Epona's Song Play music

This song attracts Epona, Malon's mare. It will notably allow you to rescue this horse when you are an adult. Malon teaches you this music when you are a child.

Saria's Song Play music

This song allows you to communicate with Saria. Play it whenever you need help. It is also very much appreciated in the forest. Saria teaches you this song in the Sacred Forest Meadow.

Sun's Song Play music

: It allows you to bring day when it is night and night when it is day. It was the work of Hyrule's composers who now rest in the Kakariko Village graveyard. You will learn it in their tomb.

Scarecrow's Song Play music

: It is learned by playing the ocarina for the lower scarecrow in Lake Hylia. You will need to return and play these notes for him when you are an adult. Here, the notes are whatever you want, but I advise you to play "simple" ones.

Song of Time Play music

: Zelda teaches it to you when you find the Ocarina of Time. It allows you to open a temporal passage in the Temple of Time.

Song of Storms Play music

: The "musician" in the windmill teaches it to you if you take out your Ocarina when you are an adult. This song will make it rain.

Songs leading to the different Temples

These songs are taught to you by Sheik when you first arrive at the medallion temples (as an adult).

Minuet of Forest Play music

: It will lead you to the Forest Temple.

Bolero of Fire Play music

: It will lead you to the Fire Temple.

Serenade of Water Play music

: Sheik teaches it to you when you complete the Ice Cavern. It will lead you to the Water Temple.

Requiem of Spirit Play music

: Sheik teaches it to you when you come out of the Spirit Temple. It will lead you to the Spirit Temple.

Nocturne of Shadow Play music

: Sheik teaches it to you when you return to Kakariko Village after the Water Temple. It will lead you to the Shadow Temple.

Prelude of Light Play music

: It will lead you to the Temple of Time.

Bags and Upgrades of all kinds

These upgrades can be taken in another order, and you will need to get them all. If you take the second upgrade before the first, it will have the capacity of the first.

Bullet Seed Bag 1 : By winning the shooting gallery game in the Market. This first bag will allow you to carry 40 seeds instead of 30.

Bullet Seed Bag 2 : By hitting the bullseye 3 times on a target located on a tree just east of the Lost Woods entrance.

More Deku Sticks : You can carry 10 more sticks by defeating the Business Scrub located twice west from the entrance of the Lost Woods.

Adult's Wallet : It allows you to carry 200 Rupees and is given to you by one of the children of the Giant Skulltula in the House of Skulltulas (Kakariko Village) after obtaining 10 Skulltula tokens.

Bomb Bag : This bag allows you to transport bombs. You will find it in Dodongo's Cavern.

Big Bomb Bag : This bag will allow you to carry 30 bombs instead of 20. The wild Goron will give it to you if you stop his crazy race.

More Deku Nuts : You can carry 10 more nuts by defeating a Business Scrub in a grotto under a rock just before the Sacred Forest Meadow.

Biggest Bomb Bag : This bag will allow you to carry 40 bombs. To obtain it, you must win the Bombchu Bowling game.

Giant's Wallet : This wallet allows you to carry up to 500 Rupees. You must collect 30 Gold Skulltula tokens.

More Deku Sticks : You can carry 10 more sticks by showing the Skull Mask to the Business Scrubs in the Forest Stage (Lost Woods).

More Deku Nuts : You can carry 10 more nuts by showing the Mask of Truth to the Business Scrubs in the Forest Stage (Lost Woods).

Big Quiver : By winning the shooting gallery game in Kakariko Village (as an adult). You will be able to carry 10 extra arrows (40).

Biggest Quiver : By scoring over 1,500 points in the horseback archery game, after obtaining the heart piece in that same game.

Magic

Spin Attack : The Great Fairy of Death Mountain teaches it to you; she is located at the top of the path, to the left of the crater entrance.

Din's Fire : The Great Fairy of Hyrule Castle teaches you this magic which will create a hemisphere of fire around you, burning enemies and lighting torches.

Farore's Wind : The Great Fairy of Zora's Fountain teaches it to you. It allows you to place a warp point and teleport back to it (amazing!). This only works in dungeons that have a map.

Double Magic Meter : The Great Fairy of Death Crater doubles your magic capacities.

Nayru's Love : The Great Fairy of Desert Colossus teaches it to you. It surrounds you with an impenetrable shield for a few moments.

Enhanced Defense : The Great Fairy of Courage gives you this power. You will need the Golden Gauntlets to clear the entrance to the cave where she lives.
